THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE BUYING A BAREBONE / KIT
Pre-Built
All internal components are fully assembled prior to shipping.
Upon arrival, customers only need to install switches and keycaps to start using the keyboard.
Full DIY
Shipped as individual components, allowing customers to assemble the keyboard from start to finish.
This option is intended for users who prefer full control over the assembly process.
Bottom Row Layout Notice
Due to PCB routing constraints, the ANSI 6.25u and 7u bottom row layouts require different PCB versions and are not interchangeable.
Please select the desired layout at the time of purchase.
Name Origin – Why “Smurve”
The name Smurve is derived from the combination of “Smile” and “Curve.”
The gentle curve of the keyboard resembles a subtle smile—a visual expression of warmth, approachability, and enjoyment.
Smurve is designed to be a keyboard that makes users smile not through novelty, but through comfort, familiarity, and the simple pleasure of typing.
It reflects the idea that a well-designed keyboard should feel natural, friendly, and satisfying from the very first keystroke.
This philosophy is also reflected in the Smurve logo, where the curved line echoes both the physical shape of the keyboard and the smile it aims to create.
Intro
Smurve80 is the first mass-produced mechanical keyboard to feature a genuine curved injection-molded plastic case, purpose-built for MX-style switches.
Inspired by the iconic IBM Model M, Smurve80 is not a replica, but a
contemporary reinterpretation that brings classic curved design into
the modern mechanical keyboard landscape.
It blends retro-inspired form, ergonomic comfort, and modern usability,
and features a built-in solenoid typewriter-like sound module that
adds distinctive rhythm and character beyond conventional flat
keyboards.
Genuine Curved Comfort
Smurve80’s curve is not merely a visual element—it defines the entire typing experience.
The sculpted surface follows a gentle arc that naturally aligns with the hands, helping reduce strain during long typing sessions.
It is a curve you recognize instinctively, much like a smile—subtle, but immediately felt.
Solenoid Module
Smurve80 features a built-in solenoid typewriter-like sound module, adding an extra layer of retro character and tactile feedback—bringing rhythm and personality into every keystroke.
